Quit worrying about holding your drink between your legs while clutching, shifting, braking, and steering your vintage Corvette. Just pull out your ash tray and pop in a cup holder made specifically for C1 (1956-1962) and C2 (1963-1967) Corvettes. C3 Corvette (1969-1982) cupholders are also now available. You can easily remove the cupholders as desired.
The C1/C2 Cupholder consists of two Corvette Logo 'Stadium' cups. The cups will accommodate 12 oz soft drink cans and 16 oz drinks as well. (Larger 'top heavy' drinks are not advised since the cupholder is 'surface mounted', not recessed.) The C3 cupholder is a shorter version non-logo but will still accommodate 12 oz and larger drinks.
This cupholder has proven very popular with the local Classic Corvette drivers!
The C1 / C2 Corvette cupholder is an assembly consisting of the following components: 1) Block, 2) Base Plate, 3) Cups
1) A wooden block is inserted into the ashtray socket. The block is milled to size and then pre-drilled for the base attachment. A spring or tension screw is attached to the block to hold the block snug in the socket. (The spring or a shim may be required to hold the block snugly as we have encountered differences in some Vettes. No surprise there.)
2) A flat base plate made of ABS plastic and custom shaped for the console plate and ash tray orientation (so that the cupholder does not interfere with the floor shift action) is attached to the top of the wooden block.
3) Two cups are then drilled and attached to the base plate to be the 'holders'. These cups are easily replaced if a smaller holder is preferred. You may notice that the C1 photo shows a smaller cup (which will only hold a 12 oz can). That photo is of my personal C1 and the cups were sourced on the internet. (Your car club might even want to order CUSTOM IMPRINTED cups!)
The C3 cupholder sits on the console and slots in just underneath the brake lever. The holder does not use a wooden block as in the C1 or C2. Instead the C3 is secured with a bungee style stretch cord to the lower side edges of the console/carpet. The C3 has non-logo cups that are shorter so as to not interfere with speed shifts.
Your Corvette cupholder will be delivered fully assembled. When installing the cupholder, please test the assembly and installation in your car to make sure the cupholder is snug and safe to use. Do not use the cup holder if it seems the drink could spill. Larger drinks are 'top heavy' and are much more likely to spill, especially when popping the clutch or during fast, tight turns!!

REPLTY TO MESSAGE RECEIVED MARCH 2023 : Thanks for the nice review and the excellent photos! You are right that the shorter cups look great and work great! There is a photo of the shorter cups installed on the C1 photo on this Etsy site. The shorter cups were installed in my 62 Vette and are perfect for 12 oz cans. However, many of my Vette friends said they needed larger holders for 'Big Gulps' and taller drinks, so that is how we ended up using the taller stadium Logo cups. Please message again anytime with any ideas or issues!
